Clarify the Crud!

Product build-up can be the detriment to any hairstyle. During the summer months we tend to use more product to maintain a style.  Curly, straight no matter what your forte’, if you use products to hold, maintain, combat the frizz…eventually these products hinder instead of help your coif.

When your hair becomes dull, limp and lifeless, even after your regular cleansing routine, here are a couple of tips that will help rid your locks of excess product:

Clarifying Shampoo – Buy a clarifying shampoo from your favorite beauty supply store…typically it’s a shampoo that contains acetic acid. Don’t overuse as it can be drying, at minimum once a week depending on your hair texture. We recommend Phyto a concentrated cream shampoo that includes sage which stimulates the scalp, while chamomile cleanses, conditions and soothes. St. John’s Wort calms and eucalyptus essence cleanses and tones.

Home Grown – You can clarify with ingredients straight from your kitchen cabinet. Apple cider vinegar, baking soda and thyme are all natural ingredients known for clarifying…do a Google search for recipes and instructions.

Visit your Stylist – Whether a first resort or a last resort, your stylist can always help with getting your locks back in red carpet shape. If you are in the New York City area, we recommend Ron Williams at the Phyto Universe who can also conduct a scalp analysis. For those in the Los Angeles area, celebrity stylist, Crystal Blings will clarify your hair and style your tresses to perfection.  (Tell them GoodGirlPR sent you!).

Fergie Loves Ted Rossi

GoodGirlPR has been a fan of  Ted Rossi for over a year.  Each time, I wear my Ted Rossi bracelet, people are in awe-it really makes your outfit! When the Source Magazine invited me to their shoot with The Black Eyed Peas, I instantly knew that Fergie would fall in love with Ted Rossi so I brought pieces with me to the shoot. One of the pieces, I choose was the Extreme Glam Cuff featured below.

Of course, I was right! Fergie loved Ted Rossi, and she even poised for a picture for me (as a side note, she is so cool):

Ted Rossi is a fashion must, and as a publicist it’s important that you get your client’s product into the physical hands of the celebrity as GoodGirlPR does.

Spice It Up

Cinnamon isn’t just for the top of your oatmeal.  Sprinkle a little into your wardrobe this season.  Mustard yellows, cinnamon reds, nutmeg browns, and sage greens, are all apart of the warm dusty color palate celebs have been spotted in.  This is the perfect alternative to all of the bright neon colors that have taken center stage this summer.-Chloe

Ahoy, Matey!

Hit the seas in bold sailor stripes.  This nautical trend is a timeless look that is always in fashion.  Stripes look amazing paired with gold jewelry and denim.  Red accents also compliment the blue and white contrasting stripes very nicely.

Anchor any  reservations you may have and dive head first into this navy chic trend.  Whatever you do, don’t steer away from making a splash this summer.-Chloe

Clowning Around

High fashion has been forcing out the “kid”‘ in all of us this season.  It’s near impossible to not find yourself revisiting your childhood when trying out pieces from some of the hottest designer’s 2010 lines.  Overalls, rompers, and big bow headbands are just a few examples of the  “circus”  inspired clothing that is becoming all the rage.  I can remember excitedly going to the circus and being entranced with all the fun colors.  Clown around with this look by being as adventurous and creative as you’ll allow yourself to be.-Chloe
